The Peacemakers.

During the Civil War, Lincoln and the Republicans passed “radical” laws to shape the future of the American West:

  • Homestead Acts
  • Morill Land-Grant Acts
  • Pacific Railroad Acts
  • Purchase of Alaska

Define what each of these Acts was meant to do and what actually happens. Then explain which had the most positive effect and negative effect on America.
