We will be watching  Julius Caesar (Mankiewicz, 1953) in class.  Students are expected to take notes each day using the questions below. Since the movie is not broken into Acts, I will be breaking up the movie viewings each day.  Students are to complete the accompanying worksheet (Caesar Worksheet)

Day 1: Act1 (Lupercalia Games Febrary14, 44BC)

Day 2: Act 2 (Creating of the Conspiracy March 14, 44BC)

  1. Why does Brutus fear Caesar?
  2. Who are the members of the conspiracy?
  3. What are some examples of foreshadowing?

Day 3: Act3 (Assassination of Caesar March 15, 44BC)

  1. Why does Caesar fail?
  2. What scene changes the play, the death of Caesar or Marc Antony’s speech?
  3. What are some examples of foreshadowing?

Day 4: Act 4 and 5 ( Battle at Philippi October 23, 42BC)

  1. What happens to relationship between Cassius and Brutus?
  2. Explain how Cassius fails the conspiracy?
  3. What are some examples of foreshadowing?
